Once you consider yourself educated on the basic of Internet marketing you should narrow your focus on traffic generation. When you have more people visiting your website you will be able to generate more sales.
You should spend the majority of your time on advertising and marketing your business to generate traffic. There are different forms of traffic generation.
In the beginning you want to opt for the safe, easy and free methods like traffic exchanges and article marketing. Later you can progress to paid methods like ppc and banner ads.
Personally, I do not advice you to opt for the paid methods unless you have significant knowledge on how they work. Paid advertising methods are the easiest way to loose your money if you are new to Internet marketing.
Another strategy I personally use and encourage others to do the same is to create landing pages and build a list of people who subscribe to my training material through emails. This list is called email-marketing list.
Building a huge list can bring you a stream of income in the future by allowing you to follow up with people who subscribe to it.
Creating a landing page is easy. (We will discuss this in details later on). You create a simple page offering people attractive baits based on what they need. It could be a free training or a free e-book download in exchange for their email.
So, the one thing you must do to start making sales and profit is to build a huge list of people to visit the website where you put up your products. These websites could be your own website or affiliate websites. When you are able to build a considerable amount of targeted visitors to your websites you will have sales and make profit on your work at home income opportunities.
